Appulate 101: Using the Appulate Market Directory
Appulate’s market directory provides a comprehensive platform for quoting insurance by allowing you to search for insurers and brokers that support specific insurance lines. Both carriers and MGAs are registered in Appulate as markets, enhancing insurance market connectivity. You can type the name of a line of insurance in the text box above or select it in the drop-down list to view all available markets, streamlining the insurance application process.
Once your ACORD data, including forms like Acord 124, is in Appulate (by starting in Appulate or via our upload tool – Uplink™), you gain access to various innovative technology solutions designed to boost efficiency in your insurance submission process. One of our main features allows you to bridge that data to Carrier and MGA online quoting platforms, ensuring you won’t have to rekey the information for a quote. There are different ways in which we bridge data to online quoting platforms, including advanced options like our insurance submission system. We refer to these as submission types, which play a crucial role in the digital submission process. Appulate and eSubmission types ensure quick and convenient ACORD data uploads to Carrier and MGA submission platforms at no additional cost. Additionally, for a small subscription fee, you can take advantage of our exclusive submission technology, such as Weblink™ or Appulate Emails.
Submission Types:
In Appulate, the methods used for transferring data from one company to another are called submission types, integral to the quoting process. Each market chooses a submission type through which you can send your insurance application, request for a quote, supporting documents, etc. Please note that market appointments may be necessary when submitting to certain markets. If you are not currently working with a market and are interested, please contact them for more information. There are four submission types available:
Appulate (Standard)
This submission type is available for markets that have signed an agreement with Appulate and whose quoting platform is powered by Appulate’s insurance technology systems. When submitting for a quote, you may first be prompted to fulfill their requirements in Appulate. If you have existing ACORD data, such as from Acord forms, it can be bridged right in using our Uplink™ tool. This submission type is available free of charge, supporting insurance automation.
eSubmission (Standard)
This submission type is available for markets that have signed an agreement with Appulate and configured a web service on their side. This web service, an applied system, allows a market to receive messages containing ACORD forms in machine-readable format. With eSubmission, your data can be transmitted to a market's existing online submission platform within seconds, facilitating the submission to multiple carriers. This enhances the online solutions for submitting insurance data.
Weblink (Premium)
Appulate Weblink™ is a tool we designed to facilitate the process of submission to markets that operate outside of our system, contributing to Insurtech solutions. Weblink™ is installed as a plug-in for your web browser and is used to automatically fill out questionnaires on your markets’ online quoting platforms with the data previously entered or uploaded to the Appulate system. Weblink™ offers fast data uploads for a small subscription fee, supporting innovation in insurance.
Email (Premium)
This submission type allows you to send all the documents required for a quote via email in Appulate. This is useful for markets with which we have yet to partner, for which we have not created Weblink™, or that don’t have an existing online quoting platform. For your convenience, we have created an email template that you can customize to fit your company’s needs, and an email scheduling feature is available. Note that the market does have to be willing to accept emailed submissions for this submission type, making it an ideal option for working with multiple insurance carriers.
